Help Me Fuel a Future!
I know you know that NFTE (the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship) is my very favorite charity and that I have been working with it for years.
NFTE gives entrepreneurship courses in the high schools where underserved students learn to create a business -- from identifying market place needs, to studying competition, to doing market research, to learning how to price a product or service, to being taught how to do a profit and loss statement, to understanding the need for quality communication and the importance of teamwork. In essence, NFTE teaches them life learning!
As a mentor and coach, I can tell you how uplifting this NFTE program is. It is amazing to watch the students gain confidence and progress toward giving dynamic, well thought out business pitches. I often tell people that the world will be better when it is run by this young generation as they have so many ideas to help others and to save the world’s natural resources.
Here are a few business ideas from my mentees:
- an inclusive app to teach diversity and fair treatment for all
- a platform that matches therapists with students who have mental health issues
- a light up leash and collar for dogs that enhances safety
- biodegradable fishing nets
- a yoga mat with QR codes to different instructors
- an automatic language translation app using the original voice
We are having a special “Fuel a Future” Campaign so that we can support more underserved students in helping them reach their future dreams.
PLEASE help contribute to this very special cause by Nov 15 - Youth Entrepreneurship Day!
